Tasting Notes

Nose: Refined bouquet of freshly picked tart red fruits (wild strawberries, raspberries) and flower petals with a lemon aroma. The perfumed fragrances intermingle delicately, pure and precise, progressively enriching with nuances of fresh almonds, bread, and spices (cocoa beans). These nuances have such an ethereal and melting tone that it surpasses the aromatic.

Palate: Intense, velvety, and enveloping. It imposes itself as evidence after such perfumes. The red fruits, juicy and concentrated, progressively tend towards raspberry liqueur supported by lively and sweet citrus. The harmony and delicacy are reinforced with a creamy effervescence that provides a concentrated and spherical sensation.

Description

In 1974, one hundred years after the creation of Cristal, Jean-Claude Rouzaud created the Cristal Rosé cuvée, selecting old Pinot Noir vines located in the best terroirs of the Aÿ Grand Cru, now cultivated using biodynamic agriculture. Taking an exquisite minerality from the unique chalky soil of this terroir, these grapes are distinguished by achieving, in great years, an extraordinary maturity associated with a crystalline acidity. Made with approximately 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay, and 20% of wines vinified in oak tuns, Cristal Rosé is made using the saignée method, after a cold maceration. It has an average of 6 years of maturation in cellars.
