Sommelier Randall Calderón Chacón’s Comments: The Crossbarn brand was established in 2000 and belongs to the renowned winemaker Paul Hobbs. It is crafted from select vineyards in the Sonoma coastal area. 90% of the wine is fermented in stainless steel, while the remaining 10% is aged in oak barrels for 5 months using the Sur Lie system. This involves allowing the yeasts to settle at the bottom and stirring the contents weekly to extract enhanced color, aromas, and flavors. The resulting wine is unctuous, balanced, and very pleasant.
