Rare Cask’s dark mahogany red whiskey demonstrates two of The Macallan’s most important and characteristic strengths: the sherry-seasoned oak casks and the natural color. COLOUR: Ruby red. NOSE: Soft notes of opulent vanilla and raisins give way to a sweet combination of apple, lemon, and orange. All this is balanced by a quartet of spices: ginger root, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. PALATE: This quartet of spices is unwavering. Oak makes itself feel, timeless, polished, and intense. Vanilla and chocolate lead the way on the finish, along with a light touch of citrus zest. FINISH: Warm and woody.
