Tea Tree Exfoliating Foot Mask (Arpha)

The Victoria Beauty Exfoliating Foot Mask with Mint and Tea Tree is a cosmetic chemical exfoliating treatment for feet from the Victoria Beauty line by Rubella Beauty (Bulgaria), in a sock format—the two sock-like liners that fit snugly on the foot come pre-filled with an exfoliating formula and are worn on the feet for 60–90 minutes, allowing the active ingredients to act on the plantar and heel skin. The formula combines a dual AHA+BHA chemical exfoliating system: lactic acid (alpha-hydroxy acid, AHA) and salicylic acid (beta-hydroxy acid, BHA), along with urea as a powerful keratolytic moisturizer. Lactic acid is an AHA derived from lactic fermentation; in the cosmetic concentrations used in foot masks, lactic acid loosens the corneodesmosomes (the protein bridges that hold dead corneocytes together) in the lower stratum corneum, facilitating the natural exfoliation of accumulated dead skin. Salicylic acid (BHA) is an oil-soluble beta-hydroxy acid that penetrates the lipid-rich interstices of the stratum corneum and follicular openings, providing a deeper exfoliating action than water-soluble AHAs alone. Urea is a naturally occurring keratolytic and humectant—in higher concentrations (10–40%) it physically loosens the keratin protein structure of thick and calloused skin, softening it and eventually facilitating its natural shedding. Peppermint oil (Mentha × piperita) provides a refreshing and cooling sensation. Tea tree oil (Melaleuca alternifolia) provides the characteristic botanical freshness of the formula. Shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa) provides a conditioning emollient base. After the 60–90 minute treatment, the dead skin begins to separate naturally and flakes off over the next 7–14 days, revealing soft and smooth skin underneath. 40 g (one treatment, two sock liners).
