Red wine base, flavored with extracts of various herbs, plants and added natural coloring (Caramel). What is Vermouth? It is known that Vermouth was prepared by ancient civilizations, including the Romans, under the name Absinthiatum (or Absinthianum) vinum. It is an aromatized and fortified wine, typically with the addition of various botanicals. Vermouth gets its characteristic flavor from Artemisia (wormwood), an ingredient that, according to regulations, is crucial for it to be considered a Vermouth. Additionally, it requires a minimum composition of 75% wine and must have an alcoholic volume of between 14.5 and 22%. Punt e Mes is a Vermouth with a legendary history. It is said that in 1870 in the shop of Antonio Benedetto Carpano, inventor of Vermouth, a stockbroker in a discussion with colleagues asked for the classic Vermouth, but with a half dose of cinchona, using a dialectal expression: Punt e Mes. Punt e Mes has a reddish caramel color and is characterized by aromas that refer to herbs and cinchona, among others. The taste is sweet, characterized by an intriguing flavor of orange peel. Enjoy it alone as an aperitif (well chilled) or with San Pellegrino water. It is also widely used in international cocktails. 750 ml presentation and 16% vol. alc. Ideal serving temperature: 4°C.
